We are Shelley Saunders and Sheila Huffman of Columbus, OH. Shelley is originally from Kentucky, and is retired
from the US Army and the Federal Civil Service. Sheila is originally from North Carolina, and is a Registered Nurse
at Children's Hospital in Columbus. Sheila is a retiree wannabee! When the Wildcats of Kentucky and the Tarheels
of North Carolina play in the same basketball game, the house morphs into a war zone! We both enjoy golf and other activities,
but devote much of our time and energy to our dogs, all of whom are family members. We both have t-shirts that say "Boxers
are Family."
This website was created primarily to showcase our dogs. We volunteer with Heart of Ohio Boxer Rescue to save the lives of Boxer dogs who are, for whatever reasons, abandoned
by their owners. Some are just found wandering loose, others are hurt and given up by their owners, and still others
are just "too much trouble." Many folks get Boxers when they are cute little puppies, and they just don't know what
they are getting themselves into. Boxers are wonderful pets, but they are very energetic and social, they are great
with children, they are very protective of their homes and family members, they are indoor dogs, they require lots of attention
and exercise, and if you just want a "yard dog", you definitely do not want a Boxer. Boxers are
Family.
